Seminary Courses

  • A basic survey of the various methods of interpretation of Scriptures which have appeared throughout history.  Focus is on the literal-grammatical-historical method of interpretation.  Principles and methods of Bible study and research are examined and applied.
  • The historical books, Genesis through Ezra, are studied by reading the Scriptures or listening to these books on audiotape recordings.  The textbook chapters are carefully read to give the student an analysis of the structure of each book, a synopsis of the main movement of each book, and an analysis of the special features of each book.
  • The historical, poetic and prophetic books (Nehemiah through Lamentations) are studied.
  • A study of the New Testament and its historical background, beginning with the Inter-testamental period.  Each book of the New Testament is examined in regard to its critical problems.  This course will acquaint students with both the diversity and harmony of the New Testament writings.
  • An analytical verse by verse study of the book of Acts for the purpose of ascerting its origin, authorship, date, purpose, teaching principles, and doctrines for the improvement of the student's ability to teach and preach from this book.
  • An introduction to the whole field of Old Testament studies with an emphasis on general introduction.  This course will give the student knowledge concerning the background of the Old Testament, enable him to develop specific answers to the critical arguments, and cultivate a high regard for the practicality of the Old Testament in this modern age.
  • Many religious sects, denominations, and cults profess to teach the true way, yet their various versions of the "true way" differ greatly.  This course gives a more discerning, broader based knowledge of the major cults, major occult groups, and non-Christian belief systems that diabolically oppose Biblical Christianity.
