LBU: Courses

A course designed to teach correct and effective use of the language through expository writing and selected reading.  This course places emphasis on the organization of multi-paragraph themes.

A continuation of English 101. Writing assignments are more complex, with special emphasis placed on rhetorical devices, variety of sentence structure, and diction. Extensive readings furnish models and source materials. The research paper and literary appreciation are included.

A survey of American literature. Detailed study of poetry, novels, and classics of American literature and the authors. This course requires an original writing project.
